Puget Sound Rescue is a volunteer organization dedicated to finding permanent, responsible and loving homes for dogs in need. We are a nonprofit corporation with 501c3 status with the IRS. All of our proceeds go towards the rescue and care of current and future dogs in need!
The organization founder and president, Barbara Wadleigh, has been rescuing dogs in the greater Seattle area for over 25 years. During this time, she has found loving homes for over 4,000 dogs that were at risk for euthanasia. We are located in Puyallup, Washington. We are not a shelter and our dogs are available for visiting by appointment only.
Please e-mail us at pugetsoundrescue@hotmail.com with any questions. Note that we do our best to respond to emails on a timely basis, but as we are a 100% volunteer organization - we often get behind. Please be patient or try us again if you have not heard back!

Puget Sound Rescue is dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused, and neglected dogs in the Pacific Northwest. Puget Sound Rescue provides long-term foster care for dogs in need and adopts animals to the homes of carefully screened applicants. The dogs are provided with exceptional home and veterinary care until they are placed in an appropriate home. All animals are required to be spayed or neutered before adoption, thus helping to alleviate the problem of large numbers of unwanted animals in the community. If the dog is too young for surgery at the time of adoption, the new owner is required to sign a contract that they will spay or neuter the dog themselves and send proof of alteration back to Puget Sound Rescue. The organization saves most of their dogs from various shelter facilities when the animals are in danger of being euthanized. Dogs are also taken directly from owners who release them into the organization’s care and custody.
